  • What's in a Name

The name of this publication has been resurrected and re-applied from its original use as a journal for Covenant conversation. The term "narthex" refers to the common meeting space of the people of faith - the outer area of the sanctuary that provides information and fellowship for the body of Christ and the space where hospital-ity and guidance pave an introduction to our faith to those seeking. It is both a formational and active space that prepares and shapes disciples; whether entering and preparing to worship or leaving and preparing to serve in the world. The narthex is the foyer that links the community to the body.
